Maruti Suzuki Recalls 52,686 Units Of The New Swift And Baleno To Fix Brake Vacuum Hose
Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall for the new Swift and Baleno to fix a faulty brake vacuum hose. The company has organised a service campaign starting from May 14.
Maruti Suzuki has announced a recall for the new Swift and also the Baleno hatchbacks in India. The company has released a circular on its websites announcing that it will undertake a service campaign for new Maruti Suzuki Swift and Maruti Suzuki Baleno to inspect for a possible fault in the brake vacuum hose. Maruti Suzuki India has also revealed that a total of 52,686 units of Swift and Baleno models have been affected by this problem, and the company has asked its customer to check weather their car is among the affected models from the link posted on the websites.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been earlier recalled in May 2016 for a faulty airbag issue as well
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift and Maruti Suzuki Baleno models that were manufactured between December 1, 2017 and March 16, 2018 are among the affected lot and will be covered under the campaign. Starting May 14 2018, owners of the vehicles included in this service campaign will be contacted by dealers for inspection and replacement of the faulty part.
Service Campaigns are undertaken globally by automobile companies to rectify faults that may potentially cause inconvenience to customers. The inspection and replacement will be done free of cost for the customer.
This is not the first time the Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been recalled. It was in May 2016, that the company recalled 75,419 units of the Baleno for issue with the airbags. Out of these 75,419 Baleno's 15,995 cars are diesel variants that were manufactured between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016 and will also be attended to for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter.
